We all have certain plants and flowers that we love, but not all of them grow well in certain areas of the country.  If you have recently moved to the Southeast region it’s important to understand and learn what plants grow best in this environment.

When it comes to determining what plants thrive gardeners will use a Plant Hardiness Zone Map.  The map is divided up into 11 different zones based on the average annual extreme minimum temperatures that a plant can withstand and determine which ones will thrive in that zone. Each geographic area is categorized by plant life that is capable of growing in that area. Charlotte is in zone 7 in the plant hardiness zone.
